Stranshome Holsteins was founded in the 1960’s by Joseph F. and Joe R. Stransky. The Stransky farm was established in 1890 in Owatonna, Minnesota. Joe and Evelyn Stransky were the 4th generation to live on the farm. They have two children, Reid and Dawn. Reid is now the 5th generation to live on the farm and the 3rd to be involved with Stranshome Holsteins. Reid and Joe are currently partners in the farm with 4 grandsons eagerly looking forward to working with the cattle and cash crop operation. Joseph W., Zach, Jerome and Darian Stransky are the sons of Reid and Daria. The boys are the 6th generation to live on the farm. Together we raise Registered Holsteins, Jerseys, Brown Swiss and Red & Whites. We currently milk between 120-150 registered and commercial cows, feed out about 500 steers and farm 3500 acres of corn, soybeans, and alfalfa. We enjoy competing with our registered cattle at the local, state and National levels. Some of the girls that have called Stranshome their home are: Stranshome Louise (Nominated All-American B&W); Jerland Rubens Nan-Red-ET (3x Nominated All-American R&W); Scientific Grace-Red-ET (2x Nominated All-American R&W);Jen-D Devil Tiffany-Red (4x Nominated All American R&W); Blessing Broker Faith (Nominated All-American BS); Red Oak Investment Sal (Nominated All American BS); Quality Ridge Ruben Sandy (Member of All American Best 3 with Hazel); Tri-Day Delectable Adeen-ET (Full sister to Tri-Day Ashlyn-ET); Schieldts Deluxe Roxie (Nominated All-American Jersey); along with daughters and granddaughters of many other industry elites. This is all made possible with assistance of our employees and herdsman, Cliff Helkenn. Stranshome is located in Southern Minnesota. Our program centers around the dairy cow…and with recent years we’ve had the opportunity to construct a special facility to house, care and develop her. The barn was built for its superior air flow and lighting. It consists of an enclosed wash rack and flush room with an attached office. We welcome visitors to come and see our unique hoop barn facility and cattle! |
